playlist for kid music in carAbout six months ago I wrote a post sharing all of the great music for kids that you guys told me about. I listened to the songs, played some for W, but at the end of the day I couldn’t get away from the fact that they were KID SONGS.

W and I are radio people. If I hear a song I like I turn it up and yell to the backseat, “Mama likes this song!” Now when W hears a song he likes he says, “This is MY like song!” If he doesn’t like a song (and I have not expressed called dibs on listening to it) he will ask for new music. (which sounds a lot like, “NOOOOO!!! NOT THIS ONE!!!”)

A few weeks ago I started paying attention to the songs he loved and began scribbling them down with the goal of one day making him his very own mixed CD. That day finally arrived this morning.

We sat down with my computer and we hand-picked songs just for him. Sure the Sesame Street songs are what you might call kid-centric, but I dare any grown up to not dig the song!
