It is so seldom that we get to do any shopping for brand new things so when BlogHer offered to send us a $25 gift card to Homegoods to check out what they had to offer I was all over that! I love the HomeGoods commercials and I knew that there was a newish one not too far away.

My goal was to find a bunch of little things for W to have from me for under the tree. I put W in the cart and he jived to the holiday music jamming on the store speakers and we went up and down the aisle. Ok, well not EVERY aisle because there is some serious glassware happening at HomeGoods and W is very much in his “lemme see how far I can lean out and reach” phase.

Most of the kids stuff seemed overwhelmingly pink and princess themed- which I don’t consider to be exactly gender specific- but W wasn’t having it. He locked eyes on a bunny astronaut lunch bag and clutched it the entirety of the shopping trip. We also both fell in love with an adorable dinner set that is fling friendly (woo! a bowl that suctions!).

The other items we got are early Birthday/ Happy New Job gifts for Mother: an eco friendly and super adorable reusable water bottle and a fancy reusable box to carry a sandwich. (& maybe W will share his astronaut lunch bag??) And lastly I got a bag of dinosaur gummy candies for me.

I’m sharing all of this with you not because I have to, but because it was fun to shop and fun to make $25 stretch to get little treats for my family. I loved going up and down the aisles of a store knowing that I was absolutely going to walk out of there with something new. We literally circled the entire store three times enjoying the atmosphere, the holiday decorations and music, and the smiles of the other shoppers that were also making early gift purchases. I felt like a normal person and that is something you really can’t put a price on. You can check out what other folks were able to get and enter the BlogHer contest to win a $100 shopping spree at HomeGoods.
