The recent announcement by Robin Roberts and then the ripple that went through twitter made me think about twitter and health. I talk about my health on twitter often and I certainly see it as a place to get feedback and support. Do any of you use the platform this way? Oddly I would never use Facebook to talk about problems with my thyroid…but for whatever reason twitter seems ok. No idea why that is!
p.s. My local clinic says the labs from California are fine and they still consider my drop a drop. In other words they will see me thursday.

I definitely talk about health on twitter. And like you, wouldn’t think of mentioning it on facebook! Ha!
I tend to be a bit more private about that stuff, but that’s just me…
I use Twitter for more health and personal stuff because it is almost exclusively blog friends, who I know on a more personal level. I kind of think of Twitter as the phone call to a friend conversation and Facebook as the yearly Christmas newsletter level, since that is kind of the two audiences that I am working with.
I don’t tweet and I’m not on FB. I’m a freak, I know.
I generally keep that stuff private. But all of my co-workers and many professional contacts follow me on Facebook. I just don’t use Twitter very much because it feels impersonal to me. These are the times I miss livejournal. All of that said, I have a deep admiration for people that can sincerely share their struggles be them health, psychological, etc in a relatively healthy way.
