If there’s a load you have to bear
That you can’t carry
I’m right up the road
I’ll share your load
If you just call me
Call me (if you need a friend)
This weekend an impromptu get together happened and thankfully Mother was well enough to watch W so that I could leave him with her for one night away. I drove three hours in the rain and then I sat on the floor with some of my most treasured friends and talked until it was the next day.
You know how there are some people that just restore you? These are those people. The next morning we all remarked that we had the best night’s sleep that we had had in ages. Maybe this happened because we were just plain exhausted, or maybe it happened because we unburdened ourselves of all of the chatter in our minds. And when you tell your problems to your friends things just don’t feel as heavy any more.
Of course zaniness happens and you find yourself talking about who would play you in a movie and who would play your friends. And then you find yourself casting yourself as the characters in favorite movies from your childhood and the next thing you know photoshop is up and running and well, someone ends up as Dolly. (obviously) It was a great weekend.

So let’s bring back one of my all time FAVORITE questions to muse on – Who will play you in the big screen version movie of your life? Who will play you in the Lifetime movie version? I’ll weigh in on casting in the comments.

I am jealous of your fantastic weekend!
I would have to play myself, as I obviously cannot be replicated.
Brilliant!
I hope you all got just want you needed from your girl time.
Angelina Jolie would play me in the big screen version of my life, not because I look anything like her, but because I absolutely adore her.
Lifetime movie version? Oh, how about Candice Cameron Bure? Again, I look nothing like her, but I like her.
Besides, if I can’t be stunningly gorgeous in real life, at least let me be stunningly gorgeous on film.
First name that popped into my head was “Barbara Streisand!” And then a blank.
I’ll get back to ya!
Kathy Bates.
This picture absolutely cracks me up!!!!
I think Reese Witherspoon would play me on the big screen and Ashley Judd would play me in the Lifetime movie!
HA! Love the photo.
OMG, the laughter from that picture. HYSTERICAL!!! So great that you guys could all have a mini Schlub without the kids (except V of course) and recharge your batteries. Miss you all!!
I completely get it, I spent time with friends last night who do that for me. I think the movie version of my life would have Anne Hathaway cast as me, not only because people tell me she looks like me, but also because after watching the Oscars, I realize she is just as goofy and nerdy as I am.
Jennifer Hudson, fat and skinny Jenny could play me. I’ve been both.
this is hysterical. i am not sure who would play me ..I’ll get back to ya
Natalie portman and I don’t know
No clue who would play me but I have to tell you I love that photoshopped pic!
Phew, I’m just glad I didn’t see my face photoshopped onto Dabney Coleman’s body! As far who would play me on the big screen I think we agreed on Anne Hathaway, but I’m not sure who it should be for the Lifetime movie. Since my life currently IS a Lifetime movie I think I better get cracking on the casting for it.
Oh my G-d… what does that leave me? The Dabney Coleman character?
9-5 is one of my all time favorite movies!! This photo just killed me!!!! So good to have re-charging days, weekends, nights, whatever you can get! As for the question of who would play me…. Big Screen Version – Parker Posey. Lifetime version – hmmmm… probably me, I guess. Can’t think of anyone else snarky enough. Love you!
