I finally get it. Why people that live in colder climates go ape-shit bananas when there is a hint of warmth and sunshine. When we lived in Florida there was nothing but heat and humidity. But being in a place that has more than one kind of weather situation is good times. I can adore the snow and then when the sun comes out I can actually appreciate it.
Yesterday Mother, W & I went to a local park. According to the park’s website it featured: a carousel, putt putt golf, a train, a massive playground for all ages, a nature trail, a nature center, and a farm. Sadly the carousel, putt putt and train were closed for the season but everything else was open for business.
We began by walking to the nature center and tried not to crash Jamal’s birthday party. The center had a really cool owl exhibit with real live owls looking down at us. It also featured a cool hang out place where you could watch silly squirrels and dive bombing doves fight over sunflower seeds. W was thrilled. He is really into being amused by animals right now and it just cracks me up to watch him be thrilled.
The most exciting part of our day was when we ventured out to the farm. W locked eyes on a giant bunny and just laughed and laughed. Also a guest at his comedy club was a loud pot bellied pig. I watched W study all the animals and delighted in his appreciation of them.
Tomorrow we take it up a notch. That’s right- W’s first trip to a zoo!
How is the weather where you are today? If you’ve got sunshine going on how are you receiving it?
Tomorrow a post about medical mysteries…ooooooh!

Beautiful weather. For our walk today, it was 55 and lovely, with a slight breeze and a blue sky with a few puffy white clouds.
Here in L.A. it is sunny and in the 50s but rained all day yesterday. I actually get excited for weather here but I can definitely remember the winter doldrums when I was growing up in New England.
Cool and breezy with peeks of sunshine….reporting from the midwest.
Sunny and wonderfully warm here in NH! I’m celebrating by breaking out Rowan’s bicycle and by going for a run! woo hoo!
Sounds like a great day.
It’s alternating between sunny and cloudy, probably about 60 degrees here. Could be better, could be worse. Have fun at the zoo!!
Was in the car most of the day coming back from a wedding, but just got back from a walk on the beach!
And I didn’t mention it’s nice and sunny because, well, it’s ALWAYS nice and sunny.
It is a truly beautiful day today. Sunny bit not too warm.
Took S to the zoo today… Lovely! We had been cooped up for 2 days with a fever (teething?) so it was wonderful to get out. Sounds like a terrific day with your family
Can I jist tell you how happy it makes me that it was warmer on my walk today on northern New England than it was in Florida or California? I love these first days when it feels like spring really is right aropund the corner. The air is so full of the promise of new beginnings…it invariably makes me very, very happy.
I dreaded going outside in the late spring/summer in GA. Yesterday it was close to 50 and I took the monkeys out to play and they ran and smiled for an hour. Loved it! Today, though, it was rainy.
Still – 4°F up here … But a beautiful sunny day !
