Calliope – I have read your blog on and off for over a year but never stopped to comment (mostly because I was back reading so far and it would be a little silly to comment on a post from 4 months ago) I just wanted to tell you what a breath of fresh air your blog has been for me. I am a medical student and last spring I googled “chemical pregnancy” for a class I was in and somehow your blog came up! My life is spent buried in books about pathology, anatomy, physiology etc and I just wanted you to know how nice it is to read about your life – you are a warm and refreshing writer. I hope my comment doesn’t come off as weird since I have never commented before – but I just felt like I should SAY something rather than being a creepy silent stalker!
I do love the ice crystals on things – they make fabulous pictures.
Watch out for those icicles when the thaw comes. Of course, with that much snow, you may have it around until June. I remember the Chicago blizzard of ’79…we had 6-7 foot snow mountains in our front yard, the field behind our school had snow mountains until school let out in June (the snowplows had to put the snow somewhere!), and we walked down the center of a busy street with my dad to see what was going on in the world. It was surreal. And kinda fun!

Beautiful. I’m sad I didn’t take any pictures, but I’ve got these to look at now.
seriously, you should do this professionally. Such great photos.

Incredible shots!!!
Beautiful! 5 inches due here in the midwest tonight. I should charge my camera!
Awesome!
Of course, I took the baby and the dog on a walk this evening in shortsleeves and saw a gorgeous Florida sunset.
And can I say how much I liked that Mattie girl up there? I don’t even know why, but her comment made me want to be friends with her.
Meant to say this when I saw your work on flickr: you are really, really talented. The ice crystal shots……whoa. I would buy notecards. Etc.
Cool pics. I like them. Snow is pretty. When you don’t have to shovel it.
Gorgeous pictures!
