What started as a sort of fly by the seat of our pants holiday revealed itself to be a wonderful and exciting and action packed extravaganza of fun, new family, and road tripping. I have tons of photos to cull through, tons of moments I want to share, and an entire suitcase of laundry to start.

Details, photos and a big, “you’ll never guess what I got in the mail” reveal moment to come…

So while I chop away at the mound of to-do before I can properly sit and write, tell me how your holiday was. What was the BEST part?

Um, getting back home and sleeping in my own bed?

Actually, I met up with a group of people who I haven’t seen since 8th grade. That was a lot of fun.

Playing Santa. I loved setting up all of Cash’s toys and presents on Christmas Eve after he was asleep and seeing his reaction on Christmas morning.

  3. My favorite part was meeting up with a friend I hadn’t seen in 2 years and she, her sister, Cale and I going to Great Falls and staying at the Sip-n-Dip the Saturday after Christmas. Christmas being over was definitely the best part for me. Love you and glad your holiday was great!

The best part of the holiday for me was the joy for my girls! We had so much fun with family, and of course, they got loads of gifts. It is just a magical time of year for a small child :)

Sadly, for me the best part of the holidays were when they were over. Not that the holidays themselves were bad, just that I was busy and stressed the whole time. The day after Christmas, I kind of took a deep breath and started feeling all Christmasy.

The best part were the 5 minutes the kiddos got to see daddy on webcam.

Honestly, I can’t point at one best moment. It was all pretty damned great.

Watching Lu rip through her presents. She had no idea what was going on but she was into it.

I can’t identify just one part. My favorites were walking on the beach with TW in sunny south Florida; holding a private solstice ceremony – just T and me; singing “Let There Be Peace on Earth” at church with T’s mentally handicapped sister on 12/24; hearing T’s father tell my father on the phone how much they enjoy having me part of their family; playing cards for hours with new brother and nephew; barefoot golf on Christmas; seeing my own parents and sister upon flying home to Portland. This was the best holyday season I’ve enjoyed in many years . . . maybe ever.

May twenty-ten bring us all the peace and prosperity that is waiting to spill over us all in a big splash of wonder.

Hmm the best part of my holiday was probably waking up in our own bed on Christmas morning and having a lovely mellow morning with my new hubby, drinking coffee, eating holiday breakfast treats, and opening thoughtful gifts.

This was the first year my son was really into the idea of Santa Claus, and it was a joy to watch. Made me wish I could believe in magic again.

All in all, it was a jolly holiday from start to finish.

I went to my mom’s family’s xmas. We haven’t had one for 3 or 4 years. I was drinking Mike’s HARDER lemonade and my 21-year old goddaughter told me I was a fun drunk! I don’t drink much and drinking stronger Mike’s then normal kicked me in the bootie. I had a great time, and it wasn’t just the drinking part.

Oh, hands down, getting my own website.

Oddly enough, the best part was the part I was dreading:
Holding my 2 month old grand nephew, and getting him to calm down and sleep (along with my husband), when no one else could, including my sister, mother to 7. Dr Karp made me baby soothing superstar. I thought it would depress me, but as one of my commenter said, it reminded me of what I’m fighting for.

The best part was seeing my sister. She moved away a few weeks ago with an abusive boyfriend (loooong story). She wasn’t going to come home for the holidays and our brother called her on the night of Christmas to beg her to come. She left in the middle of the night and was there when we woke up. The best Christmas present ever!

Best part was easily watching my son enjoy every moment and every part of what Christmas is supposed to be about. He’s almost 4 and it appears that is the perfect age to fully understand and grasp the wonderfulness of the holiday, yet not be at all jaded by anything yet. Absolutely amazing to witness.

Worst part? Poor little Peanut got her first real, honest-to-god sickness on Christmas Eve. She still has it. That sucked. A lot. And watching my son enjoy every moment? Well that was done with Mommy only getting 2 hours of sleep on Christmas Eve so I don’t so much remember all the details. Thank God for the Flip video.

    Welcome back.

The best part? I know this is going to sound really pathetic..but it was lounging around in my pajamas ALL day long. I ended up getting sick right after opening our presents and wound up in bed. While everyone was out visiting…I laid in my bed at first I felt sorry for myself..but then I began to enjoy the quiet.

  18. Finally getting a chance to make Christmas cookies (my favorite holiday tradition) on Christmas eve. And I’m thankful that we didn’t have to travel far in the Christmas blizzard that blew threw these parts.

    Happy Holidays!

It was the best Christmas since I lost Kenny. No big present, nothing out of the ordinary, but I spent it with the best person that has ever been in my life. Much to my surprise, I love a dog named Hazel and her master, Mike. They both show me unconditional love and that is a new surprise for me. I did miss my son as I always do, but my tears were very private this year and the smiles in my heart finally showed at the time of the season I love. Enjoy your son, my D.

The BEST part of xmas for me was my girls picking out the presents I bought them as their favorite (and not grandma’s.) ~wink~

Cuddling with my hubby and crying on Christmas Eve. I know it sounds dumb and sad, but it has been a rough year and our marriage has grown stronger.

Ok the monkey bread on christmas morning, was also fabulous!
