Back when I was an actor studying someplace Over There we used to play various games to get to know each other before a production. One of my favorite games was usually played at the end of the first day.
Each member of the cast was given a sheet of paper with another actor’s name at the top. The leader of the game would then present a fill in the blank metaphor and you would have to answer accordingly with the name of the person on your sheet in mind. Then you would fold down the paper over your answer to hide it and pass it to the person on your right. The game really kicked in once the sheets were turned in and the leader began to read the metaphors out loud and we would have to guess who the person was.
At some point you would get the paper with your name on it and there would be this tingle, this thrill that other people had held this bit of paper and thought about you. But usually the fill in the blank metaphor that was the most telling was the one you filled out about yourself.
So let’s play a game. In the comments give yourself a fake name and remove the url to your site (if you have one). Leave your e-mail address as that will not be published. (but be aware that if you have a gravitar it might show up) And then fill in the metaphors about yourself. Come back to see if you can identify anyone based on their metaphors and leave a guess. If no one can name you come back and reveal yourself!
