Descending on December

by Calliope on December 1, 2009

Here we are, people. December 1st. This is the month where everything will happen. (& now I have 3-2-1 Contact theme song in my head.) And could someone please wake up Sue Miller and tell her to get with the program? (as of 11:30am she is still living in November-land)

I was able to (after shit loads of hold time or being told to call back later messages) get in touch with Florida offices regarding W’s insurance. They should be faxing me the letter I need today. (cross fingers on that) Next on the paperwork list is getting some sort of proof that I am not totally homeless right now. It’s all so annoyingly complicated and frustrating and with every e-mail or phone call I make to whittle down the list of necessary paperwork I need to have I feel defeated. I mean I am getting stuff done, but sometimes it just hurts to ask.

(I also feel like a dork that so many of you responded so sweetly to my rough Monday mood. Thank you for ebbing with me on that. I know I am doing the best I can, but for fuck’s sake it would be so much nicer not to have to leap through rings of fire on some things.)

And since I want to start December off on a better foot than the hollowed leg of November, here is some cute I am going to share:

W as a reindeer

Not a clue what our holiday plans are, aside from making sure there are fried things to consume during Channukah. As for Christmas, we usually spend it with my parents, but they’ll be moving and don’t know what house they’ll be in yet and even when they don’t have such complicated things, my mother is SO not the planner, and we usually don’t know what we’re doing until about a week beforehand.

If we stay here, we may just descend upon you and make you all merry and shit.

Where’s the box for “panicking and realizing it might be time to get cracking on making those gifts (since I have no money). and also on thinking of what those gifts should be”?

uh, i mean: spending time with family.

OMG TOTALLY GETTIN’ FRESH WITH THE PEPPERMINT.

I’m sorry, being a December baby means I love, love, LOVE the peppermint yummy that happens at this time of year. Like peppermint mocha coffee creamer. Woohoo!

My goodness that is ADORABLE. Did W see the reindeer too? ;)

Can I check peppermint and glee more than once? The peppermint ice cream is already in the freezer and I leak so much glee during the holidays that I have to do extra vacuuming. :)
