I am no help at all on the DC area, but will happily rant with you on Daylight Savings Time and the impact on sleep. Mine and everyone else’s in my household, including the dog.

As far as the resume question, I think you would address the relocation in your cover letter, as opposed to the resume itself.

If your mom is thinking about temp work (i.e., document review) there’s not much of that in Baltimore, more in DC. She won’t want to have to commute too far if she is staffed on a project that has hellish hours. Pay for those type projects was around $30 an hour last I knew, but since then there have been some big firm layoffs which may have driven down the price. It’s worth checking into whether or not your mom needs to be admitted in DC before doing this – I recall that you didn’t have to be but then there was a change and maybe you did. The DC Bar could probably tell you for sure, as could one of the temp agencies. LegalSource, Kelly, and LexSolution are a couple of the ones around here.

I live in this area. I have lived here for 10 years. Can you see my e-mail? E-mail me about housing and areas. I have lived in DC, Baltimore and tons of suburbs. I am no help on jobs as my wife has been unemployed for awhile. But I know housing!

I live in the DC/Baltimore area infact right in the middle of both. I’ll keep my eyes open and if I see anything I’ll send it your way. I would imagine right now as a starter Baltimore would be more manageable money wise. Good Luck! I love the area!!!

Have you considered the Hampton Roads area? I don’t think our unemployment is as bad as other areas in the state and we have a lot less snow!
