1) and this is important- Do any of you guys live in or near Wisconsin? If so will you e-mail me so I can ask you a question?

2) I am getting W a high chair tomorrow. What color should I get? White, red or blue?

3) Do you peel your apples before putting them in one of those mesh food thingies?

4) I had a question about a commercial I saw at 3am but can’t remember what my question was. What was it?

5) What are you doing this weekend?

6) Saturn is shifting into my “mid-heaven” and it is shifting out of Mother’s sign completely. Sue says this will be a time for me find a new career and a time for Mother to land a dream job (woo!). What does Saturn have in store for you? (& sadly it won’t be a car…)

Ok, I can’t figure out how to email you, but you should have my email from this comment. I live in Wisconsin (have for pretty much my whole life) and can hopefully answer your question.

  2. melissaNo Gravatar says:

    1. I don’t live in or anywhere near Wisconsin, sorry!
    2. Blue! (White will get soooooo dirty!)
    3. Yes, otherwise little tiny bits of apple peel can come off and work their way through the mesh. Not big enough to actually choke on, but enough to be irritating and make him not want to chew on it anymore.
    4. It was, “Why in the hell would anyone actually buy this?” or “Why in the hell didn’t I invent this?”
    5. I am having a visit with a dear, dear friend who moved several states away and now only comes to see me a couple of times a year. Yippee!!
    6. Jupiter is bringing me some awesome news….hmmmm.

  3. KimNo Gravatar says:

    1) CA girl, can’t help you there.
    2) Definitely blue. White would be a nightmare! And red is just so hard on the eyes sometimes…
    3) I agree with above. yes, peel the apple. Less to worry about and let’s face it, no kids like the “skin” on apples anyway.
    4) Is your questions about how fascinating those damn prius commercials are with all the people popping up and all the colors? Aaaahhhh…and the song is cute.
    5) Early kiddie Halloween party, catching up on work and if there is a God, catching up on some sleep!
    6) I no nothing about this. I am a virgo. What does that mean for me?

  4. HereWeGoAJenNo Gravatar says:

I have never put an apple in the mesh thingie. Hmm. So far I’ve just given her slices of apple and she throws them on the floor for the dogs.

Blue high chair. It will match my kitchen better.

Either cleaning out the garage or going to Busch Gardens. Not sure which one yet.

  5. krisNo Gravatar says:

Hi! I live in Wisconsin, and I can’t for the life of me find your email on here, but fire away on the question! :)

  6. BlondieNo Gravatar says:

Sweetheart, I live about an hour from Wisconsin’s border, and 3 hours from the Madison TJ’s. Also, talk to Liza, she’s in Milwaukee.

W definately needs the blue chair. Matches his eyes.

So October is our month, huh??

  7. KristinNo Gravatar says:

    1) Nope, sorry.

    2) Red…so bright and cheerful.

    3) Never used one but I would think peel it.

    4) Sorry, mind reading isn’t my strong suit.

    5) Going to the county fair at with my parents and selling cub scout popcorn.

  8. ShannonNo Gravatar says:

    1. Nope..but I hear they have good cheese and lots of cows

    2. Blue..I don’t know why

    3. Never used one..I would say peel it

    4. No you don’t need it

    5. I’m going to an Art Show featuring one of my friend’s and her father’s art.

    6. Taskmaster Saturn will move into Libra, a fellow air sign that will be far friendlier for your fire sign element than its place in Virgo could ever be. Once in Libra, you will absorb more easily the new lessons Saturn will have for you, without so much struggle. Additionally, Saturn will no longer be on a sharp angle of your chart, considered one of the hardest places in a chart to host this demanding planet. Better days are due, dear Sagittarius, and I am so happy to have this news for you.

o.k. Sue just amazes me! Seriously how did she know I was going to break up with my boyfriend at the beginning of the week?!

  9. ShelliNo Gravatar says:

    Blue on the high chair.

Speaking of Saturn (the cars), my hubby is/was an employee until yesterday. We are reeling from that news. My fear is I will be laid off in my job too, and then we will really freak out.

I have a cub scout meeting with the little dude tonight. Tomorrow is hubby’s b-day, and considering the week he’s had, it wil be a pampering weekend of gooey b-day cake and beer. lol.

    1. afraid not. i did spend an all-too-long 6-month sojourn in Minneapolis when I was 18.
    2. blue
    3. don’t have one, so i don’t know. i’m sort of opposed to peeling apples in principle, though, unless you’re mashing them up for W. or putting them in a pie or betty.
    4. no it won’t work like it shows, and no, it’s really not that hard to do it without the product in question, so save your money.
    5. gypsygrrl has given me instructions to rest up, drink plenty of fluids, and let the antibiotics work their mojo.
    6. a professional reward is due. hmmmmm. perhaps that promotion i’ve been angling for?

  11. AshleyNo Gravatar says:

I grew up in Wisconsin, currently reside here, and have lived in Minnesota and North Dakota. I have the trifecta under my belt.

    How can I help you?

  12. AlisonNo Gravatar says:

    1) No – but everyone I know who does live there loves it…

    2) I would say blue – but I’ve always been a fan of those strap to a regular chair style seats. Take up less room.

    3) I think those mesh food thingies are dumb. The gag reflex has never failed my babies.

    4) No. It doesn’t really work. Nothing that’s on at 3am features any truth in advertising.
    ;)

    5) Tons, weirdly. Beach. Buddy Walk. Free museum day. Picnic in the park. New friends. Old one. It’s a busy one.

    6) October is my birthday month. I love October. Hopefully Saturn will guide me in the production of a pair of perfect dino costumes for the boys…

  13. ValNo Gravatar says:

    I live in Wisconsin!

  14. KymberliNo Gravatar says:

Blue, especially if it’s a darker blue. The lighter the color, the more the stains show, especially when he gets into fun stuff like pastas.

The only thing I know about Wisconsin is that there are a variety of cheeses and cows there. Ahem.

This weekend is a 4-day for me, so I plan on packing up some of the summer clothes that el Cinco has outgrown, sorting through Kyra’s old fall/winter clothes to pass down to Kaelyn and getting that stuff in her closet, finishing some tasks in my cleaning rampage, possibly buying a new oven this weekend, hanging out with my mom and sisters, eating lots of crab legs, maybe get my hair cut, reading a book, blogging, and obsessing more about Frank’s business.

Horoscope said I was really broke (I was), but that a bunch of money would fall into my lap at the start of October (it did) and would continue to do so (I can only hope).

  15. JenniferNo Gravatar says:

I live in Minnesota which, quite honestly, is much cooler than Wisconsin by far. *wink* yep, no bias here. I never lived in Wisconsin but I’m quite close here in the Twin Cities and I have lived in the Chicago area and had a friend that lived in Milwaukee (still does, although we have lost contact sadly). So I spent a lot of the early 90s driving back and forth across Wisconsin. I could tell you high and low points of every rest stop on I90 and I94 at one time.

My high chair was one of the few ‘vintage’ pieces I used with my son. Meaning it is a high chair my mom bought (at a garage sale no less which is SO not my mom. Thrifty does not = my mom) for my older sister, 44 years ago. It is completly wood. They painted it that hideous snot green that was popular in the 60s and a bunch of us kids used it until there were no babies left. then it sat in storage for years until I was determined to refinish it. So we did. My husband is quite the woodworker but he prefers to work on ‘new’ projects – refurbs are not his thing (which is ok) but we worked hard on our high chair and it is gorgeous – stained a honey wood color and varnished with child-safe varnish. So if I had to pick a color it would be – wood grain. :-) It is the one piece of baby stuff I will be keeping. I appreciate vintage but i’m not typically a vintage kind of gal.

Er, I’ve forgotten your other questions. sorry. :-)

  16. OK – #1) Nowhere near WI, but I would like to go there.

#2) I opt for red but that’s only because Wil’s high chair was actually his grampa’s high chair and was chrome and red vinyl and was entirely too cool.

#3) Know nothing of the mesh thingies – sorry.

#4) Ooooooooh I’m leaving that one alone. I hate infomercials. Our family has learned the hard way that there is no truth in advertising…. case in point, Bendaroos which my son, one hour after opening the $36 Xmas pakage declared “Wow these aren’t nearly as fun as they look on t.v.!” Mmmmhmmm…. I agree

#5) It is the Conrad, MT Centennial so we are skipping out on all the festivities this evening because we have a parade, a bake sale, beginning of Cub Scout popcorn sales, and drunken debauchery at Wylie and the Wild West show (Wylie is the one who does the Yahoooooooo! commercials) to participate in on Saturday. Fun times!

#6) Looks like a good month for me,and hopefully there will be a new car (even if it isn’t a Saturn), I need something I can drive the hour to get groceries whenever i want instead of begging to use my M-I-L ‘s car. Ugh. But looks like the money situation is changing for everyone, and that is good news!!

    Loooove you!

  17. sabrinaNo Gravatar says:

    4) should i buy the snuggie? or not?

    5) no big plans. need to cook for the little one. music class on sunday.

    6) everything’s coming up roses! hurray!

  18. alisonNo Gravatar says:

    1) there is no place like nebraska (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dear_Old_Nebraska_U)

    2) RED (see answer to #1)

    3) yes, until 7-8 months (www.wholesomebabyfood.com) easier to digest

    4) hhmmmmm

    5) hopefully B an d i are recovering fom THE SICK

  19. NancyNo Gravatar says:

Don’t get a high chair with a white seat!!!!!!!! Everything will stain it, especially anything like tomato sauce. My kids had one with a dark blue seat with stars and moons. It was easy to keep clean and never showed a stain. My tray was white, but it was easy to clean in the sink and could go in the dishwasher, which was a bonus.

  20. CareNo Gravatar says:

    1. I know nothing about Wisconsin, sorry.

    2. Red! Um, just because red is the closest thing to pink, and pink is my favorite color.

    3. Never used one of the mesh thingies, but definately peel the apple.

    4. TV? What is that?

    5. Spending time with the Sunday Date Guy, company picnic (if it doesn’t rain), hanging out with my boys.

    6. Sue missed the boat for me – but then again, being born on the cusp between two completely opposite signs, horoscopes are rarely right for me.

  21. veeNo Gravatar says:

    1. Where’s Wisconsin?
    2. White, cos then it’ll match BB’s. Cleaning is not so bad, honest!
    3. Don’t peel – if he can get peel through the mesh, it’s too small to worry about; if he can’t, nothing to worry about – either way you saved yourself a job. Or, you could save yourself another (washing the mesh) and give it to him like this: http://everydaybaby.wordpress.com/2009/09/29/26-september-2009-fruity/ As long as it’s not a cripsy, snappy apple, but more of a softy, it’ll be fine. Pears work well this way too.
    4., 5., 6., sorry – gotta dash!

  22. CarrieNo Gravatar says:

    1. No.
    2. DO NOT GET WHITE, I REPEAT DO NOT GET WHITE! If you think you’ll have another baby in the somewhat near future and are keeping all of your baby items, go with red, otherwise blue would be fine too.
    3. Never used one of those mesh things with any of the kids. I haven’t given the babies hard apples yet. Other fruits I just let them eat with their hands (canned fruit).
    4. Hmm…
    5. Hanging out with the family, and maybe going out with the hubby if he starts to feel better.
    6. Can’t look right now…shhh.

  23. RebeccahNo Gravatar says:

    1. Nope, sorry.
    2. Red seems cheerful, but definitely not white!
    3. We leave the peel on. Which worked just fine until he bit a hole in the mesh … then I was fishing apple peels out of his mouth.
    4. Don’t worry about the holes in your memory. It’s perfectly normal with sleep deprivation : )
    5. Tomorrow we go as a family to get our flu shots. Do we know how to have fun or what?
    6. Phew, thanks for the heads up about Saturn, because after 2 years of giving me nothing but challenges, it’s finally going to start helping me! YAY!!

  24. AttNo Gravatar says:

    1) Sorry, no. I wish I could help you, though!

    2) RED, FOR THE LOVE OF GOD RED. When he’s a little older you can get him a fireman’s helmet and he can be FIREFIGHTER SNORK!

    3) I would imagine so, they’re a bit rough on the stomach, no?

    4) To be honest, I heard the sham-wow kind of sucks. Sad, innit?

    5) Exercising the feck out of our new puppy. And lots of obedience training.

    6) ¨the good news is that Mars will move off this difficult position on October 16 and not come back for two years. Hooray! From this month on, it will be far easier for you to control your finances.” OMG THANK YOU, MARS! Saturn is also playing tiddle-winks with my career, and is probably the reason why GETTING A NEW JOB WAS SO HARD FOR ME. But he’s moving along soon. Thank Jebus. It looks like a good month, whew.

  25. snNo Gravatar says:

    2. not white–thing crusty food mess
    3. sure, add the peels if organic. if not, peel. my general minimally informed understanding is that thinner skinned fruits it’s more important to get organic.

  26. sarziniNo Gravatar says:

    1) Used to live in Milwaukee. Might be able to assist.
    2) Red. White shows pasta stains and blue is too boy colored. Red. Many foods will blend in with red and thus not show icky stains on tray of high chair.
    3) I guess I would peel the apple. Both kids hated mesh food feeders.
    4) Can I wear it on my head?
    5) Kids have swimming, other half has hockey in NYC. Possibly the zoo on Sunday – H is officially obsessed with animals and wants a pony ride.
    6) Probably nothing or more of the same awful bone crushing tired single parent with a spouse who works insane hours.

  27. gypsygrrlNo Gravatar says:

will someone please look up CANCER’s Horoscope & post it here for me? am stuck at work and “the paranormal” is blocked.

  28. CaraNo Gravatar says:

    I can only answer…

    #3 – No.

#5 – Do you really want to know??? Think Charlotte’s Web with a different ending where packages get wrapped and freezers are involved.

yeah. I know. I married into it.

  29. LisaNo Gravatar says:

Wow, as a Cancer, that horoscope was very positive for me! A lot of things in it hit really close to home, especially concerning work and family stuff! I hope it’s all true!

Anyway, I vote for blue because blue is my favorite color. But I know that is a pretty stereotypically boy color, so my second choice would be red. I don’t think white would be practical, so I wouldn’t vote for that unless you’re sure it won’t stain.

As for my weekend, I am enjoying being done with a major work project that has tied me up for the past two weeks. I’m most excited about sleeping in past 4:30 a.m. since my work schedule last week had me in a meeting every morning at 5:30 a.m. I’ll probably just relax and do some housework. Nothing too exciting!

  30. LisaNo Gravatar says:

    Hi Calliope,
I have commented in awhle but have been reading all this time.

I recently moved to Milwaukee from Boston. Let me know if you still have ?’s.

Sorry to read about your GM’s passing. I am acutely aware of that bittersweet feeling when someone so tragically ill passes.

Hope October takes a turn for you and your family,
