Insert random thoughts here

by on September 17, 2009

Yes. I am avoiding blogging about other stuff. Don’t worry I am bottling it all up to pour out later. In the mean time I seem to be scatterbrained about pretty much everything else right now. This means that today you just get some random thoughts. Woo!

What the fuck is up with the new Jeopardy set? At first I thought it was leftovers from their tournament of champions but now I realize that it is here to stay. Hate it. I am still pissed off at Jeopardy for doing away with the sound effects when a daily double is found. I loved that sound. But there IS good news about this season- celebrity rounds will be featured weekly starting tonight.

I really wish grocery stores delivered. So many nights I am filled with the desire to make something specific only to be met with no ingredients. Wonder if there is a career to be found in being an errand girl for a neighborhood…

My hair is now like a tree falling in the forest. I got an awesome trim/cut a few weeks ago. One of those, “please thin out my giant head of hair” cuts and this one actually seems to have worked. And for several days I have worn my hair DOWN. And if you know me, you know that this is giant. Not only have I worn it down but when I catch sight of it I think it looks pretty hawt. The funny thing is that W is so amused when I have my hair down. He seriously looks at me like I am making a funny face at him. Nope- just wearing my hair down.

And we haven’t even had our yearly chat on the new fall tv shows! Oh goody- now I know what to blog about tomorrow!

So what is on your mind today?

Yeeeeeeah, the new set has me all wtf.

But I’m trying not to be negative. Trying to be positive! To think about them calling up J! Right?

There ARE some online grocery services! And there are definitely online organic grocers. I don’t know what’s in your area, but do some internet searching! Some of them just require a commitment to get an order a month or whatever.

Click here to see if this store delivers to your house: http://www.peapod.com/ My sister just started using them. She still goes to the store for some things, but she has been using this site more and more. There isn’t a location close to me, so I can’t use them. It would be perfect with Cody getting ready to ship out.

My mind today? Massive headache. Thinking about all the things I need to get done before December, and of course about the impending deployment.

The new Jeopardy set is indeed hideous. I don’t know what they were thinking.

See there’s another reason you need to live in the Northeast – Fresh Direct, Peapod, Guenardi’s – all deliver. Just saying…You may also want to check out organic food delivery – often they will deliver great veggies/fruits locally.

My other half is having a major crisis with his profession. So I’m dealing with that today.

Our local Acme (albertsons) delivered until about 6 months ago. Now you have to place an order online, schedule a time you want to pick it up, call when you are on the way, and they will bring it out to your car. I use the service alot because I don’t want to drag a 2 year old around the grocery store..

The new set looks like the laser background all the cool kids got as their school picture background in 3rd grade.

Elizabeth looks at me all funny when I wear my hair down. She’s like “where is the regular Mama?”

I also wish that grocery stores delivered. I have been looking for an online one that delivers to me, but I can’t find a good one. Amazon does, but you have to buy in bulk. I don’t have room to store six of everything.

Don’t watch Jeopardy so I have no opinion there. I know here in California Von’s/Safeway delivers groceries. I got my hair cut recently too. Mine tends to be thick and thinning it out doesn’t help much for my intents so I went shorter. With everything except my bangs which I thought about trying to grow out. That lasted about 4 days and I’m going Saturday to get them fixed.

You know I watched Jeopardy! for the first time in forever last night, and I noticed the new set. UGLY. I mean really. But I didn’t notice the lack of Daily Double sound.
On my mind today: headache, too much to do too little time, soccer game tonight, now I’m wanting something done with my hair, shouldn’t have gone out with the girls last night (always a bad move on a weeknight)…

You really want to know what’s on my mind? How can I keep my bathroom from smelling like a men’s room? I stupidly bought those soft foam toilet seats, not realizing they soak up the pee when a certain male (not my husband) pees on them. I’ve been using Nature’s Miracle with little sucess. It is really grossing me out. The worst part is, it is mainly our little powder room for guests, so it is not only gross, it is embarassing.

Grocery store delivery is the best. I bet you could make a business of it, though it might be a major PITA. When Erik was small we almost always had our groceries delivered. We lived in a third floor walk-up, so it felt pretty necessary.

I don’t watch Jeopardy but that set looks whacked.

Here in Cairo ALL stores deliver 24 hours a day, you never have to leave your house, if you don’t want to. I mean I needed some milk once, called they brought me just milk. Pharmacy, need some advil, 10 minutes its at your door.

Me too darlin, me too…

and P.S. – Grocery delivery would be so rad!! I hate having to drive an hour to get affordable food.

Yay, I’m not the only one who is being driven crazy by the Jeopardy changes. Did you notice they also changed the sound effects when the categories are revealed? Oh well, I hated when they changed the theme song to the more synthesized version they use now and now I don’t even notice it.

Saddened about Patrick Swayze and Mary Travers. Relieved that a lump in my right tit is most likely just caused by an infection. Didn’t care for the winner of “America’s Got Talent.” Gonna have some laughs tonight w/the premieres of “Parks & Rec” and “The Office” at my sister’s house and meet the new golden retriever they’re adopting from rescue! Looking forward to seeing Pres. Obama on Letterman Monday night. And yes, we have Safeway delivery in the Phoenix area.

My family watches Jeopardy regularly, at least when my mom and sisters are here. I haven’t watched it in the last couple of months, though. From the pic, I’m not diggin’ the new set, either. And they got rid of the Double Jeopardy sound? WTF?

Chance and Apollo’s kid-sized, half-psycho, high-strung fuzzy white dog would go apeshit crazy each time the Double Jeopardy signal sounded. And now I’m sad.

Off to cry into a bowl of ice cream.

On my mind today-Adam turns 10 months tomorrow and I haven’t done a good job keeping things documented…he is trying to wean himself, but won’t take a bottle or sippy…will he ever start pulling himself up…Why does Mad Men suck this season? Is it so I can go to bed earlier? Why are my bath towels “crunchy” feeling and not soft? When will my husband stop asking me if he should change Adam’s diaper? Will I ever get back my sanity or is this just the new norm?

Love you and thinking of you!

On my mind? is it Friday 8:00pm yet? (no work the next day and kids in bed) LOL. I am so exhausted…

Lots of grocery stores deliver…your main chains do, though they don’t deliver late night or anything. Safeway and Albertsons do here.

Sometimes i ponder about the reason why society has become just like this. It really is just demoralizing :( . I’m gonna go consume a beer and loosen up right now! I am sorry if i got everyone down.
