So basically I just spent a lot of time making a cake that tastes like a brownie. Not sure if the applesauce or egg whites made it wonky- but I was hoping it would taste better. It doesn’t taste bad, but maybe some cakes shouldn’t be made low fat. Fat is where it is at.








Still, it looks awesome. And lower-fat cake is better than no cake.
Hmm…could you still call it “low fat” if you added a tbs of butter to each slice?

Try that one without the glaze for low-fat. Use sugar-free pudding if you like. I make this all the time and it gets rave reviews.

When I lived in Paris, I fell in love with baking. I taught myself how to make pastries from scratch (some complex ones!), and I make ALL sorts of baked desserts, and I don’t want to brag, but I’m pretty good, BUT I ALWAYS seem to fuck up brownies… like regular old, everyday brownies!! Carey laughs at me every time I try it!!
Brownies are good! Do you think it was the applesauce that maybe didn’t give it the flavor you were looking for? I’m going to try it this week. Maybe for Zilla’s birthday. I’ll let ya know.
