More Adventures in Positive Thinking

by on June 20, 2009

Lots of back and forth stuff regarding the job possibility for Mother. I will go out on a limb and say we are still being giddy with hope. We are so struck by hope that with some gentle nudging from yours truly, Mother went off to get a new HIRE ME do. I kept seeing all of these make over shows where with a bit of a cut and hair color the subject looks decades younger. And in this shit job finding world younger looking could be good.

Don’t get me wrong- I think my Mother and her platinum hair are fine. But I did think with color she might look better. Boy was I wrong! I am so glad that the gals at the salon were firmly anti-color as I think she looks amazing. Polished. Fab. And yes, younger.

Now, will someone please effing hire this lady so we can get moving to the next chapter?

I love the cut and I agree color would have been too harsh on such a sweet face!

Gorgeous. And if you project a good image to the world, you will get hired! Absolutely agree with not coloring the hair. Perfect!

Mother looks faboo! The blonde is great, but I also think she could go red with that complexion. I’d hire her. Of course I’m a school teacher, so I don’t think any salary I could give would do you any good. The thought counts though, right?

Your mother looks gorgeous, she really does. Such beautiful eyes. Her hair colour is perfect for her skin color. Great cut too. She is one Stylin lady for sure! I have my fingers crossed for good news coming her way very soon, she sure deserves it.

What a great picture!! You’re mom looks great – and you two look a lot alike. I don’t know why, but to me this picture shows it more than some of the other recent ones. My job-obtainment phalanges are crossed :)

Love the hairstyle. It’s both pretty and professional. Your mom’s smart not to go crazy with the cheek color and the eye makeup. It’s hard to tell from the photo, but does she use foundation? I think tinted moisturizer would work well for her to give her features some brightness and lift. Just stay away from the kind with sparkles embedded in it, that’s for teens.
I’d love to see her with a lighter shade of lipstick, rose instead of red and grey eyeliner, the soft crayon kind, not liquid.
Anastasia makes great brow products. The powdered kind you apply with a little brush works well for pale blondes for whom brow pencils can look a little “drawn-on.”

Mother looks utterly utterly and divinely fabulous! I am giddy with hope for you guys, and check every day hoping that today will be the day that you post that she got the job and you are moving. Not that I want you to move far away, but I know it will be SO much better for you all.
