My mom told me once that it has some infant neurological development significance that I now can't remember. She and I don't usually just sit around and talk about infant brain development; a New York Magazine cover shortly after the election had a photo of a baby in an Obama onesie making that pose (http://nymag.com/nymag/toc/2008/index3.html).
