it does indeed. you and snork are the only reason we’ve been online this wkd. oh and we’re watching the 2nd series of the no 1 ladies’ detective agency as i type. nice to see the UK ahead for once xxxx
at least you have some FABULOUS company in the meantime waiting with you
i am purging my bedroom, and found a little piece of TTC notes before i ever knew any terminology ~ it was one of those “ask dr so-and-so about [medication] in pregnancy…” notes. its weird. i had forgotten my life with the exgf very much included some dead serious plans for me to have our babies. it was weird but did not make me sad. i almost saved the index card to scan for IVP-posterity sake, but the angel on my shoulder said *pitch it now* and so i did.
wish you were here to keep me company while i purge out 99.9% of the things occupying my room. it is long overdue…
Not going to annoy you by saying “Hang in there!”. I hated when people told me that, instead I am going to concentrate really, really hard and send labor vibes your way. I may not know you but I want you to feel that amazing weight of a baby on your chest. You deserve it, your snork deserves it and hopefully it happens sooner rather than later!
hey, it sucks but just cherish these last moments feeling your son swish and swim inside you. pretty wonderful, huh? yeah ok let’s go ahead and meet him!
I’d trade places in a second, but on the other hand I also know how anxious I was to meet Bruiser. Mind you, I keep checking your blog like ten times a day, so I’m guilty of impatience too.
I had a long ole email for you, but I’m not getting off my ass to finish it, so I’ll just give you a quickie here.
I know waiting is hard. And throughout the months, you know my opinions on inductions. Not that you have to pay mind to my very negative opinions about early inductions, since you won’t be getting one, as I am perfectly okay with a week past due date inductions (plus, anything medically necessary.) The fact you are progressing AT ALL is good news for your possible induction too. I had a “my cervix is nowhere near ready” induction and it was THE most painful thing in the history of man. So being pastdue when they’ll do it (if they need to), you should be fine.
What I wanted to mention was about progression. From my experience, as long as it’s doing SOMETHING, and I mean going from tight to even a fingertip is ALL you need to know labor will, in fact, come. I can’t include Ella’s birth because it was a fully induced labor, but for Allie and Karl, I was fingertip to 1 cm for days (even weeks) ahead of the delivery and once my body was ready, I went from a fingertip to 10cms within the hours. So don’t be bummed AT ALL to find out that you are “only” 1/2 or 1cm, because it means shit as to the future. When you go into labor, you don’t NEED to have a bunch of progression.
IN these last few moments, meditate. And take some pictures of yourself. I promise you will miss miss miss being pregnant so badly, that “stopping to smell the roses” right now will be something you will be so happy you did!
Just got in from a movie and raced to check in you ‘n’ Snork… (Duplicity, very average, but had me guessin’ until the end) Rest up, you never know when you will suddenly find yourself at the start of what is the equivalent of a marathon.
I went overdue with my first too and was induced at 41w. It’s just such a letdown to have all that buildup to the “due date”, then to still be pregnant for days afterward. I had really awful edema and it was brutally uncomfortable, so time was practically standing still.
All that to say, I have great sympathy.
This time around, a scheduled delivery is cutting out any possibility of going overdue. Only 3.5d to go!
It’s agonizing, isn’t it? I don’t know if the fact that it wasn’t my body made things better or worse, but it was a very crazy-making time. The full moon is coming though, and that was good for a number of people I know, including us with Natalie. Teddy took a hurricane. Can’t wait to hear how Snork decides to emerge.
Haven’t left a comment for quite some time but wanted to de-lurk to say I am so very excited for you!!! I keep checking daily for updates – best of luck!!!!
He’s probably just waiting to come at the perfect moment (which apparently only he knows when it is..).
I think I heard that first time births, are usually after the EDD.
Hang in there.
ha, you crack me up! just checking in, he’ll make his way soon enough and you’ll forget what life was like before him in no time. i hope you have an *easy* birthing journey and can’t wait to hear all about it, see his pictures and learn his real name!! so excited for you and your mom!
I just checked the comments – Thanks Marta for the update! Rock on easy labor girl. Hope you and Snork are doing well. Oh yeah and Snork’s million fans need pictures Mama
I know the pain of being overdue…and although having the baby in the arms makes the memory of those two weeks a little less painful, I haven’t forgotten. I didn’t want to answer the phone anymore (they call as if I wouldn’t tell people if I actually had the baby). The one bonus was that I got to head to the hospital at a scheduled time and didn’t have to be anxious about having the baby in the car which was one of my earlier anxieties.
I’m sending you plenty of labor and delivery vibes. I hope that Snork wants to find his own way out instead of having to have someone show him the way.
OH WOW!!!! I’m so excited for Cali and her family. Woohooooo baby Snork has arrived! Can’t wait to read a post from Cali, but understand if that takes a few days (I was offline for weeks after birthing Mason – forgot I even had a computer).
Best wishes to Mommy and baby.
What? What? All I see is a post that you are waiting and now I see only 4 comments but they are all congratulating you and DID YOU HAVE A BABY? What is going ON?!

Come on, Snork! Time to vacate!
Go walk a mall or something with very hard concrete floors…isn’t that supposed to induce labor? Geez…..haven’t you waited long enough????
Can’t you eat some spicy food or hop up and down or something?
Lookit me… like I know jack about being pregnant.
Snork needs to stop being so lazy. How’s he going to get into a good college with those attitude?
THAT attitude. Me speak English.
Not going to annoy you by saying “Hang in there!”. I hated when people told me that, instead I am going to concentrate really, really hard and send labor vibes your way. Snork reminds me of my youngest daughter – taking their sweet time to get out. Don’t worry one way or another Snork will be here soon!
Refresh, repeat, etc… Sending good vibes, as always! Good Luck!
I keep checking on you various times a day.
Good luck,
Rosany and Pam.
Ha ha, thanks for giving us blog stalkers something, because, you know, we assume thatsulence means “progress in the girly bits!”
Just got in from a movie and raced to check in you ‘n’ Snork… (Duplicity, very average, but had me guessin’ until the end) Rest up, you never know when you will suddenly find yourself at the start of what is the equivalent of a marathon.
