Mellow Monday

Brought to you in bullets…because you know you love them.

  • Last night I had the genius idea to bring one of the GM monitor upstairs so that I could have a few more minutes sleep. Usually I am up and downstairs by 7am so that I can be ready for GM when she wakes up. She seldom calls for me until 8 or 8:30. This morning, however, I woke up to a strange sound coming from the monitor: spraying. Loud and rhythmic spraying. It took my all of 2 seconds to identify the sound- that would be the pumping of generic aqua net. GM was up and ready & thinking it was Friday AND that we had a bunch of appointments to get to. The time? 7:13am.
  • GM is also now struggling to recognize me in photos. Granted the photo in question is from the late 70′s and I have blond hair, but it is one of my favorite photos so that makes me sad that soon we will have to take it down. It is a source of agitation for her and I just don’t ever want her to get upset. I  tell her that it is me, but I can sense that she doesn’t quite believe me.
  • It is raining a fantastic and wonderful thunderific storm right now. Love that.
  • I am bleeding again. I am amazed the emotion that comes with that is actually one of happiness. Yes! Bleed! Get that fucking beta down into submission.  I just don’t think I will be able to properly move on until I am good and done with the December cycle.
  • I am attempting to do a slim-fast plan. The first part of the day is easy for me. So easy. But then when the dinner hour rolls around I am INSANELY hungry.  I know that I won’t do this for an epic amount of time, but I need to jump start something. Any day now I will begin working out again. Any day now…
  • Watched two rentals this weekend. Becoming Jane was well done, but not as visceral for me as the PBS’s Jane biography type movie. The 2nd rental blew my mind. Across the Universe was just amazing. So all encompassing and sensational. Mother and I went back & watched parts of it with the commentary and became even more amazed. Most of the singing in the movie was recorded live – meaning hardly any lip-syncing. It reminded me a lot of the movie/show Hair, which is one of my favorites. Plus it is fun to spot all of the Beatles references that aren’t so obvious.
  • I am getting excited about the Oscars. I feel lame that I haven’t seen many of the films being recognized, but I haven’t gone to a movie in an actual movie theatre in years. But, being an award show lover, I am glad that this show will go on. I am hopeful and nervous about Jon Stewart hosting- I hope he goes all the way.
  • Last night I had a dream where I was in a grocery store hunting down chocolate flavored cheerios. In the frozen food section I ran into an acting teacher from high school. She was wearing aviator glasses and pushing a grocery cart full of feathers. The Z is totally livening up my dream landscape!
  • I’m excited about this week’s photo friday theme (which you will learn tomorrow). I’ll be putting the poll up tomorrow morning as well, so if you haven’t submitted your photo yet please do.

Oooh, you just made me really excited to see Across the Universe. I think that will be our next movie rental.

I’ve been remiss in not coming by sooner. I’ve seen your name and references to your blog around blogland. I plan to dive and learn more. In the meantime, totally relating to your mellow Monday — your love affair with thunderstorms, anticipating the Oscars, and your preference for PBS’ Jane Austen Regrets. I was particularly taken with that presentation in the series, which I’m just now feasting on — stored in my TiVo…

Wasn’t Across the Universe just amazing? Joe and I saw it in the theatre and sat there singing along, laughing at all the Beatles references. When Prudence came into the flat, he and I looked at each other and simultaneously said, “She came in through the bathroom window!” just before they said it. I kept waiting for Max to pick up a silver hammer, but obviously was glad he never did. Of course, I suppose that his military weapons he was forced to use could be stand-ins for the silver hammer…

I’m glad you’re doing all right. I sent some white light your way last night.

So glad to hear the Z is bringing you some entertainment (not to mention a marketing idea to send to the cheerios people!)

I’m with you on the bleeding. Bring it on and get it over with. I feel so relieved that mine seems to have picked up. Strangely my clinic hasn’t ordered any further betas either. I don’t remember strange dreams really from Z. I did from Effex0r. I also plan to exercise someday. I went so far as driving to the beach today but not actually getting out of my car.
