After reading everybody else’s blog I have morphed into a bratty 8 year old child demanding, ” I want a blog too!!” My goal is to have a venue to rant and vent that is quasi anonymous. I should quietly mention that I am not blogging under my real name*. Not to brag or anything, but I do have a rare name & if you google me…well, there I am. If you know me I would appreciate if you would not use my real name or any identifiers in comments.

Since this is my 1st post I should introduce myself:
I am Calliope*. 29 years old. & while my days are absorbed with taking care of my 84 year old Grandmother (a victim of Alzheimer’s) a lot of my energy is distracted elsewhere. Yup. I’ve got “baby” on the brain. About a year ago I admitted to myself, friends & family that I want to be a Mother. One catch: I’ve got no boyfriend/hubby/gigalo. It was a very easy thought leap to the world of AI (artificial insemination) by DS (donor sperm). I cruised sperm banks on line for a perfect candidate and found a great RE (reproductive endocrynologist) an hour away.

At some point I may post some of my journal entries documenting my journey thus far. But for now you should know that I have had 5 failed IUI’s (intra uterine inseminations). I have been taking the fertility drug clomid and one of its many side effects is the creation of cysts. I developed 3 cysts on my last cycle and so I am currently on a break to allow my body to heal.

More posting later. It is time to make lunch for GM (grandmother)
